The Commonwealth Games (CWG) medal winners from Haryana would be felicitated at a grand ceremony in the state’s Sonepat district on Monday. Athletes from the state bagged 32 medals and will be awarded cash and other rewards at a ceremony being organised by the state government to mark the occasion of Haryana Day. Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda would be the chief guest of the event, dubbed ‘Chak de Haryana – Chak de India’. All CWG participants from the state would be awarded Rs 2 lakh each. Players winning gold, silver and bronze medals would be given Rs 15 lakh, Rs 10 lakh and Rs 7 lakh each respectively. Apart from the cash rewards, each gold medallist would also get a Maruti SX-4 car. The silver medal winners would be given Swift Desire cars, while bronze medallists would get Wagon-R cars apart from their cash reward.
