OnePlus has been a little cheeky for the past few weeks, teasing images on its social media accounts that suggest it is launching the OnePlus 5T soon. On Tuesday, the company made it pretty clear in a ‘pun intended’ tweet that the successor to the OnePlus 5 is on its way. The post literally shows five cups of ‘tea’ (as seen above) with the OnePlus logo inscribed on each cup. Subtle, right?Prior to the latest OnePlus 5 ‘tea’ tweet, the company also posted an image that showed the bottom of its entire smartphone lineup with the caption, “What do our phones have in common?” This would refer to the 3.5mm headphone jack that has been present since the first OnePlus phone, and based on the timing of the tweet, it also hints that the upcoming OnePlus 5T will keep the headphone jack, for anyone who was worried. What do our phones have in common? ?? pic.twitter.com/sd9PcSdptw- OnePlus (@oneplus) November 1, 2017OnePlus has expressed in the past that it loves the headphone jack and will not be parting with it any time soon. With the OnePlus 5T expected to be the first in the company’s lineup to sport a full-screen display, rumours erupted that the company would ditch the headphone jack. It is understandable to think so as a number of near bezel-less smartphones this year like the Pixel 2 XL and iPhone X have dropped the jack in order to fit in a larger battery. But OnePlus’ tweet suggests the OnePlus 5T will keep the jack much like the Galaxy S8 and the LG G6 before.advertisementThe upcoming OnePlus 5T has been has seen a number of rumours and was recently (partially) revealed by tipster Evan Blass. Based on the renders we’ve seen, the smartphone is expected to sport slim bezels and an 18:9 aspect ratio. Going by past reports, the OnePlus 5T is expected to sport a similar 5.5-inch footprint as the OnePlus 5, but with a larger display size. Also Read: OnePlus 5T render shows its edge-to-edge screen, India launch likely on November 16OnePlus Co-Founders Carl Pei and Pete Lau have been tweeting images for the past few days that have seemingly been captured by the OnePlus 5T. Timing is everything after all and the stress on the image quality suggests that the smartphone will have upgraded cameras compared to the OnePlus 5. To recall, the OnePlus 5 comes with a dual rear camera setup that comprises of one 20-megapixel telephoto Sony IMX 350 sensor with f/2.6 aperture and one 16-megapixel wide angle Sony IMX 398 sensor with f/1.7 aperture. Based on recent rumours, the OnePlus 5T could sport a pair of 20-megapixel rear cameras. Meanwhile, the front-facing camera could possibly see a 20-megapixel sensor as well, up from 16-megapixel on the OnePlus 5.”What phone is he taking that photo with?…” ??? pic.twitter.com/PZMIEP1gkv- Carl Pei (@getpeid) October 30, 2017Additionally, the OnePlus 5T is tipped to sport a Snapdragon 835 SoC, and will likely be offered in two variants, one with 6GB RAM and 64 internal storage and the other with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
